If you Wanted to Know…
This is Me is a blog about my my friends, great finds, and my own personal experiences in health and fitness with some fun, easy, and healthy recipes thrown in. I’ve been in the fitness world for about 5 years now starting as a Group Fitness Instructor certified and licensed to teach Zumba, LesMills CXWorx, Total Conditioning, Core Conditioning, No Limits Cardio, Bodyworks Plus Abs. I also keep current on my NETA, CPR, and AED certifications by attending workshops, taking classes, and continuing education courses.
I’ve worked one-on-one with personal trainers, some of the best my club has to offer. My latest personal trainer introduced me to the world of running and I have really submersed myself into its culture. Since my start in October 2011, I’ve participated in 9 races (6 5K’s, 1 8K, 1 10K, and 1 Half-Marathon). You can see my progress on my “Race” page. I’ve signed up for the Bop to the Top race in January which is a stair race (38 flights of stairs in just 7 minutes and 37 seconds) the Carmel 8K in April, and the Mini Marathon in May in downtown Indianapolis to kick off my 2013 running season.
I love to keep up on my fitness knowledge so I’m always reading books. Some of the books on my list have been: Wheat Belly and It Starts With Food. My favorite cookbooks are: Well Fed, Well Fed 2, Paleo Slow Cooker, & Nom Nom Paleo (On pre-order). In addition to reading and cooking, I love following fitness professionals on Facebook and Twitter just to keep me in the know and reading their little motivators throughout the day. My favorite tweets come from: Girls Gone Strong, Jen Comas Keck, Eat this Not That, and Women’s Health Magazine.
While I don’t claim to be an fitness expert, it is my hope that with these exercise tips and recipes, you can find something that motivates you or inspires you to continue on your journey to a healthy lifestyle.
